The Dorset Campaign Against Litter (DCAL) Committee was formed some years ago by a group of campaigners from East Orchard who were appalled at the amount of litter appearing on rural roads around them. The Committee now meets three times a year in Dorchester and includes representatives from the County and District Councils as well as several individuals working in the county town to improve the situation, especially in schools and at local railway stations. The Committee has achieved an excellent working relationship with the Councils representatives who regularly attend and exchange views on Fixed Penalty Notices and other matters.
Dorset CPRE held a Seminar on Litter and Flytipping early in 2008 with speakers from County, District and Parish Councils.
