Email your local authority

If you have a problem with litter in your area and want to get in touch with your local authority then we suggest you use our Stop the Drop email facility .

Simply fill out your name, address and email address in the boxes and select your council from the list provided, then click on the submit button. This will take you through to the letter screen. We have filled out a letter for you but you can edit this as much as you like. You could highlight a particular grot spot and request they send someone to clean it up or request the council assist you with your own cleanup. The email will be sent to the relevant contact within your council that deals with litter.

Remember, your local authority is obliged to keep its land clear of litter and refuse to within specified standards under the terms of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Find out more about this by visiting the law section of the information centre.
