We've collected 1036 bags so far!

Founded: 06th Sep 2003

Town or City: Leeds
Areas covered: Guiseley, Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Run by local community activist, Jeff Yates.
Main aim is to keep the streets, lanes and green spaces of Guiseley, West Yorkshire, clear of litter.
A combination of regular litter picks (usually Sunday mornings) and liaison with key groups - Leeds City Council's Streetscene Services, Guiseley In Bloom and local schools and individuals - helps to keep on top of the problem.
Emails and phonecalls to key groups enable speedy action, but active litter pickers interested in hands-on action are like gold dust!
Jeff is looking for more active support from members of the local community. Volunteers can either just look after their own patch, or work with other volunteers.  Hours totally flexible - you decide.
As of 2009, the LFGC is officially an army of three!  We are presently collecting around 20 bags of litter a month!
