Our first pick up day we had about 16 volunteers who nobly abandoned all those DIY Saturday jobs and donned their gardening gloves and lumi-vests, were given a beat and set forth along the verdant grassy verges of our district of Bisterne. After 1 1/2 hours, 20 bags of rubbish were collected and all were rewarded with Pimms on the lawn. Well worth the effort. Everyone agreed it was a good idea and at least are now aware of their surroundings and we hope will continue the good work whenever the need arises. Watch this space ...
