Clean Up Sunday 2
A heavy storm just before we were due to start dampened the spirits and reduced the numbers of litter pickers for our second clean up. Undeterred, some intrepid/foolhardy souls ventured forth to seek some litter - and ended up with 19 bags for their labours. We were delighted to note that the streets of Bromyard were much cleaner than we were expecting and there was less litter than for our event last autumn - which is really good news. Thanks to our litter pickers plus Mary Seldon for organising the event, the Falcon Hotel for hosting us and Hydro-Logic for transport.
Observations from this event:
1 The grass verges conceal litter much better in the summer than in the winter
2 Why do some dog walkers collect dog mess in a bag which they then throw into the hedgerows - do they expect litter pickers to come and collect it?
