Earnse Bay Clean Up

On a windy evening, thirty volunteers teamed up with Morecambe Bay Partnership and North West Kitesurfing to give the beach at Earnse Bay a good clean up prior to this weekends National Kitesurfing Championships.

A good hour and a half saw the beach looking spotless and ready to welcome people from all around the country this weekend.  Matt Sanderson of Morecambe Bay Partnership said "As this beach clean was on a working day I never expected many people to join us and the people of Barrow have proved me wrong by their very generous volunteering.  As always, a great big Thank You to everyone that came along to help".

Mayor of Barrow Dave Roberts recently expressed an interest in the work that Morecambe Bay Partnership carry out around the Barrow area and took the opportunity to come along and see what the volunteers get up to.

After the beach clean, which removed 30 bin bags of litter from the Earnse Bay beach, Gary Powell of North West Kite Surfing said "The shore looks great and this shows the kite surfers coming here from all over the country that we care about our beaches".
