'Village of the Year' Tidy up

Another successful litter pick with good weather and a dozen willing volunteers.  Alveston streets have been relieved of another 9 bags of rubbish.  The group felt that the levels of litter were generally less and were  particularly encouraged by the tidy appearance outside Marlwood School.  Maybe young people are getting the message as well as our local residents who help keep the area litter free.  Thanks to all for their contribution in what ever way and to everyone who picks up the odd wrapper as they walk.  It all  helps to keep Alveston looking good.
STOP PRESS - with our support  Alveston has won the 'Large Village' award for the Avonside area (South Gloucestershire, Bath & NE Somerset, and N Somerset).
