The LitterFree Durham launch event was so well attended that we could hardly all fit into Heighington Village Hall to see Pam Royle cut the metaphorical ribbon.  She then had the hard task of choosing among the dozens of wonderful anti-litter posters designed by children from the local primary school.  The prize-winners were duly selected, after much discussion, and had their photos taken with Pam, who then immediately went outside to don a fluorescent jacket and join the regular Heighington litter pickers.  Several of the children's posters were later chosen by Teesdale District Council to illustrate their own new anti-litter drive.  Examples are now seen all over Teesdale, even displayed on the litter-collection vehicles.  Congratulations to all concerned!
